Travel Magazine / Student brief at Shillington
Brief: Time Out wants to create a unique travel magazine that reflects its past non-conformist history showcasing unconventional holiday destinations. Design the front cover and an article.
Solution: Being from a travel background, part-producing travel magazines, it was a challenge getting away from the glossy, sunny, white sand beach images I’d familiarly known. West Africa seemed like a suitable choice to change direction.
West Africa isn’t high on many people’s bucket lists and this is conveyed through the black and white imagery. After further research you will realise that this is a land of colour, hope, intrigue and promise. The orange overlays highlight the potential. The handwritten type nods to the destinations rawness.
